Frequently Asked Questions Where are TJ Gold & Diamond's products made?
 All of our jewellery is designed and handcrafted in New Zealand, in our own Auckland facility. We also have a branch in Houston, Texas.
 Do you use natural (mined) or lab-grown diamonds?
 Both — it's entirely your choice. We'll help you choose whichever suits your taste and budget. What's the difference between lab-grown and natural diamonds? Lab-grown and natural diamonds are physically and chemically identical, and both come with independent international certification (IGI or GIA). The only real difference is origin: natural diamonds are mined, while lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment. Quality comes down to the grade, not the origin — a well-graded lab-grown diamond is every bit as brilliant as a natural one, and usually costs significantly less for the same size and quality.
 How does your buyback guarantee work?
We offer a buyback guarantee on the loose lab-grown diamonds we sell — one of the very few jewellers in New Zealand to do so. Because we're confident in the quality of what we sell, we'll buy your diamond back based on its current value. To qualify, keep your original invoice and grading certificate, and make sure the diamond is in its original condition.
 What is the Diamond Selector? The Diamond Selector is our tool for buying with complete confidence. Instead of wading through hundreds of options, we pre-select diamonds that meet a high standard, so you can simply focus on size and budget. Our selector diamonds are: - Colourless (D–F colour), subject to availability - High clarity (IF–VS) - Excellent cut (Triple X), with no fluorescence — extra fine quality - Independently certified (IGI or GIA), not just a local jeweller's certificate Simply choose your size and the price adjusts automatically.
 Can I make a custom or bespoke piece?
Yes. We design and manufacture custom engagement rings and jewellery in-house — starting from your idea or sketch, through a 3D design you approve, to the finished piece. Because we make everything ourselves, there's no middleman and no retail markup. Do you buy gold?
 Yes — we're also Auckland gold buyers as well as Houston Gold Buyers, Bring your gold in and we'll test and weigh it in front of you, then pay based on the live gold price.
 Can I see your designs in person?
Absolutely — you're welcome to visit our Auckland store: TJ Gold & Diamond 588 Chapel Road, Botany Town Centre, Auckland 2013 Open 7 days, 10am–5pm. (From September 2026 we relocate to 169 Harris Road, Auckland.) Houston store, 10311 North Eldridge PKWY, Tx77065, open 11-5, closes on Sunday.
